Girls Cross Country: Ipswich Girls Split Opener
The Ipswich girls cross country team split its season opener, defeating Georgetown 22-37 while falling to host North Reading 27-29. The Tigers were led by senior Rayna Duffield and freshman Hannah Clapp, who finished second and third respectively against both opponents.
Rounding out the top Ipswich finishers were Hannah Herron, Jessie Harrington, Casey Nordberg, Anna Jones, and Carinna Jones. Junior Annika Brink rolled her ankle and had to drop out of the race, but she should be ready for the next meet.
Ipswich coach Steve Bartholomew was impressed by Clapp's debut, stating she is "certainly starting her career off the right way."
