Field Hockey: H-W and Georgetown Play to a Draw
The Hamilton-Wenham and Georgetown squads each came into Monday's game looking for their first wins of the season. After playing to a 2-2 tie, each team picked up a point but couldn't collect the "W".
The Generals goals came off the sticks off senior Cara Goudie and junior Paige McKechnie. H-W also got a great offensive push from senior captain Charlotte Rubel.
On Thursday H-W heads to Amesbury, while Georgetown will host Lynnfield.
Field Hockey: Ipswich Blanks Amesbury
Ipswich rebounded from their loss last week to Newburyport, scoring five first half goals against visiting Amesbury en route to a 6-0 shutout of the Indians. The win moves the Tigers to 3-1, while Amesbury falls to 0-5.
Maddie Wilson had a hat-trick, scoring 2 goals in the first half and her third in the second. Kayci Brouillette scored twice on assists from Rowan Galanis and Riley Daly. Tatum Galuski also notched a goal. Katherine Noftall and Olivia Corcoran picked up assists.
Ipswich plays on the road at Rockport on Thursday, while Amesbury will look to collect their first win as they host Hamilton-Wenham.
Field Hockey: Three in a Row for Lynnfield
After losing their second game of the season, Lynnfield has rolled off three straight victories. Their latest came with a 6-2 victory on the road at Newburyport.
The Pioneers were led offensively with a hat trick from sophomore Lily Rothwell. Junior tri-captain Ashley Barrett netted a pair of goals and senior Haley Castinetti scored once. Junior goalie Emily Dickey made 8 saves for Lynnfield.
The Pioneers (4-1) are scheduled to host Pentucket on Thursday, while the Clippers (2-3) will travel to North Reading that same afternoon.
