Generals Remain Unbeaten

September 19, 2017

Hamilton-Wenham improved to 6-0 on the season, defeating Ipswich in straight sets at home on Monday. The loss drops the Tigers to 2-3.

The Generals got strong games from middle hitters Cecily Szady and Rose Wosepka, each coming up with two big blocks, and Wosepka adding three kills. Katie Hankin was perfect from the service line in 17 attempts, including three aces. Senior setter Jaiden Hartley-Ward had 20 assists.

Ipswich coach Kerri O'Connor felt her team suffered from low energy on the court, which led to too many errors. Emily Davidson played well at the net and was an accurate passer. Meghan O’Connor had many strong well placed hits. Ava Huntley stepped up in the middle with good communication and aggressive play and Grace Quinn passed well throughout.

H-W travels to North Reading on Wednesday, while Ipswich will host Newburyport.
